Description:

The transferring of culture and tradition throughout centuries

Abstract:

At the tum of the XX century Poland did not exist as an independent State. Poles, especially those living under German and Russian occupation, were subjects to aggressive nationalist policies. By promoting tradition, culture and religion through education the Polish families of the Kresy region played a great role in preserving Polish national identity and faith in regaining independence. The education and upbringing Janusz Jędrzejewicz, a great reformer of education and prime minister of the Second Republic, the son Eleonora and Czesław, may serve as an example. Growing up among patriotic tales of heroic fights for freedom and independence, extensive reading, diverse education and observing of traditional holidays allowed Janusz Jędrzejewicz to become a great patriot and achiever.
