Subject and Keywords:

universal happiness   sleep-teaching   ideology   dystopia   utopia   Huxley

Abstract:

Universal happiness in the Republic of the World was related to the prohibition of learning about history, art, religion and, to some extent, science. The social system, which was introduced with the usage of tricks, consisted of a monstrous manipulation of human consciousness, cloning and conditioning of their citizens. There was introduced the slavery system which was created by the state. In the “New Brave World” the state dealt with the education of children. Moreover, the state explains citizens their inevitability of fate. The work presents the futuristic images of education in a society where the prevailing standards are not related to the law of contemporary world. What is more, learning content was introduced by sleep-teaching. The learning objectives and expectations for education were subordinated by ideology, which helped only to sustain power.
