Alternative title:

Antagonistic attitudes towards vaccination as a threat to civilization

Subject and Keywords:

vaccinations   attitudes   infectious diseases

Abstract:

For several years, an increase in the number of unvaccinated and inoculated children has been observed in Poland. Research shows that this is a conscious decision by parents who are afraid of vaccination consequences, including loss of health and life of their own children. The reasons are seen in the fast flow of information, not necessarily reliable, which is broadcast on social media. Meanwhile, medical scientific research clearly indicates that it is not difficult to deal with an epidemic. The purpose of this article is to show the importance of vaccination in preventing infectious diseases. The author will define infectious diseases and the Poles' attitudes towards vaccination. The hypothesis was formulated that an increasing percentage of unvaccinated individuals may contribute to the development of infectious diseases. The work was based on legal sources, medical literature sources and secondary research presenting the incidence of infectious diseases in Poland and Europe
