The importance of online communication for contemporary youth

Abstract:

The electronic multimedia became the area, where various important needs are fulfilled. It is confirmed by my research carried out in the year 2015 on a group of students of the University of Wrocław. The multimedia with access to the net are widely used by academic youth. They are used daily, many hours a day. Via multimedia students fulfill their informational, educational, social and communicational aims. In everyday lives of many people undergoing the research, the network environment suppresses contact with such classical media as: books, television, press or radio. Due to the fact that Internet applications and communicators accelerate and simplify processes of communication, the majority of respondents prefer this method of communication with other people. Online communication creates opportunity for a participation in the social life for the research group. The researched youth cannot even imagine their lives without the Internet and mobile phone.
