Title:

Ukraine’s Unrequited Passion for Europe

Subject and Keywords:

EU   the Eastern Partnership   NATO   Ukraine   Poland   European integration   Russia   Russians-Ukrainian war   Orange Revolution   Euromaidan

Abstract:

In his article, the author presents the history of relations between Ukraine and the EU. The analysis of these relations as well as the final recommendations are based on the most important events of the last 25 years in Ukraine from the declaration of independence to the Revolution of Dignity. Considering that it was pro-European tendencies in the Ukrainian nation that triggered the recent changes in this country, it must be said that, faced with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and its own inability to react to the aggressive Russian policy, the European Union’s fundamental credibility has been called into question. Destabilization of the Eastern Partnership and return of the partner countries under the Kremlin control would mean a fiasco of the European Union as a successful political project and a new world order similar to the one which emerged after the Yalta Conference.
