Place of Suffering in the Realization of Utopias – Half-pedagogical Reflections

Abstract:

To the Enlightenment we owe the flourishing of ideas and utopian imagination. And as suggested Baczko enlightened confidence in mind consequently leads also to the fact that theodicy converted to Anthropodicy . It is no longer in front of the Absolute but before the Mind, we have to expain oneself. No God is responsible for suffering, but we; supported by the ideal of freedom we are seeking its meaning. Are these two consequences of the Enlightenment development of utopian thinking and Anthropodicy, in some way connected to each other? Another attitude to suffering can be found in dystopian and another in utopia. Dystopia usurps the right to manage institutions that may cause suffering in this way in totalitarian systems performs power over people. Utopia, in contrast, seeks to reduce, if not remove the pain of life. In the grand design of perfection and progress is not (?) a place to suffer. But what are the consequences? In this paper, I would like to reflect on the paradox that appears in the utopian project of perfection. This paradox is realized utopia, denials it in the same time - seeking to eliminate suffering, it is suffering we get. I'll think about the way to respond to this paradox by education. This reaction may be an action against perfection.
