Abstract:

Parents of children with ASD experience chronic stress, which often turns into anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as somatic dysfunctions. Due to the permanent burden, it is necessary to apply therapy leading to the reduction of disturbing symptoms and the development of effective coping strategies. Few publications yet provide data on the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy applied to parents and caregivers of children with ASD.
