Collaborative consumption is one of the new trends in consumer behaviour that takes into account an alternative approach to satisfying one’s needs. This trend is based on access to goods realised without the need to possess and transfer property rights. The purpose of the paper is to characterise generational changes determining the willingness to engage in collaborative consumption and, therefore, impacting its popularisation. The author analysed factors increasing consumers’ (belonging to the X and Y generation) interest in innovative solutions in the sphere of consumption, which constitute a favourable base for the development of many forms of entreprene urial activities. Attention was paid to the changes in the attitude of young purchasers who value the actual usage of things more than making the purchase and possession of those items, and who recognise opportunities that the collaborative consumption-related activities provide for the creation of various forms of entrepreneurship.
