Abstract:

The sense of quality of life is a subjective, interdisciplinary and multidimensional concept. As a consequence, it leads to differentiation of understanding and measurement this concept.Disability is an important social problem. The quality of life of people with disabilities is an important problem in social life and on the labour market. One of the tools supporting the activation of disabled people and their quality of life is the implementation of projects co-financed from the European Social Fund. The main goal of the article is to present the current position and role of disabled people in social and professional life and to show the possibilities of improving the quality of life of those people through the implementation of projects co-financed from the ESF. Additional goals are to determine the role of factors affecting the quality of life of people with disabilities, including the professional activity of people who are at risk of social exclusion and its impact on their lives. This article identified also factors that impede access for disabled people to fully enjoy of their social life. For this purpose, a general concept of the quality of life disabled people and the efficiency of projects co-financed of European Social Fund, which are dedicated to disabled people, is illustrated. It shows which tools and what kind of projects has positive influence on quality of life disabled people. This article concludes with statement that proper kind of support and help disabled people, including projects co-financed from the ESF, may make much better life of those people
