A healthy lifestyle, pro-health behavior and environmental conditions determine a healthy and long life. Nursing staff, due to their knowledge and skills, should, through their actions, encourage others to appropriate pro-health activities. The aim of the study is to analyze the health behaviors of nurses (operating and anaesthesiological) and to evaluate these behaviors. Research methods: The research was carried out by the diagnostic survey method with the use of the proprietary questionnaire. The study included 86 operating and anaesthesiological nurses in the Lubelskie and Łódzkie voivodships. The research was anonymous and voluntary. Results: 58% of respondents rated their health as good. However, almost 50% of respondents reported pain and mental fatigue. 61% of respondents did not use a balanced diet, however, over 37% of respondents indicated that they are overweight. Conclusions: 1. Despite the knowledge of correct pro-health behavior among nursing staff, there are shortcomings in the practical implementation of recommendations in everyday life. 2. The greatest threat to health is inadequate nutrition, obesity occurring in some respondents, lack of physical activity and exposure to stress in the workplace. 3. Nurses should set an example by their behavior and encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
