 abstract={This article aims to provide the legal situation of pledgee concerning the pledge on rights. Basic regulations of the issue are: Act of 30 June 2000 on industrial property law, Act of 23 April 1964 Civil Code, and Act of 6 December 1996 on registered pledge and register of pledges. The article presents – concerning only chosen issues – the legal situation of a pledgee, its assessment, as well as possibilities of its contractual modification. There is also reference to the benefits from patent, the influence of art. 891 of industrial property law, its consequences, as well as the consequences of annulment and expiration of a patent. Subsequently, the problem of launching on the market and influence of granting patent of addition was taken under consideration. Finally, there are pondered issues of pledge agreement and differences concerning registered pledge. The pledge as a limited property right is a very complex institution of law. Regulations usually refer to the pledge on movable things. Their relevance applying to the pledge on rights arouses controversy. While undertaking solution of those problems, a thesis about the necessity of enhancing the legal situation of pledgee was proposed. It is the starting point of consideration pertaining to particular issues.},
