 abstract={This article relates to selected problems showing the Polish society as a recipient of information on criminal cases. The presented analysis is empirical in nature. It is the result of research work that has been entrusted by the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław to the Foundation of Public Opinion Research Center. The principal assumption and objective of the article was to illustrate the social views and attitudes related to the determination of the role and place of criminal sanctions in the awareness of the society.},
