The paper formulates the hypothesis that the Poles are afraid of side effects of vaccinations, and that is why some of them are skeptical about vaccinations. The work was based on literature studies in the field of public health and legal sources in Poland. Secondary tests were performed (statistical data was generated in Poland regarding vaccinations in 2010–2020). Primary research was also carried out using the online survey questionnaire technique in Poland on a sample of 267 respondents in March and April 2020. This research allowed achieving the purpose of this paper. The following conclusions were made in the paper. The number of the Poles refusing vaccinations is growing, although Polish legal regulations oblige people residing in Poland to vaccinate, but at the same time the legislator provides for the possibility of resigning from vaccination. However, it is the privilege of the attending physician who can use this solution only in the event of medical contraindications of the patient. Our own research shows that patients are afraid of side effects of vaccinations. Therefore, it seems necessary to introduce The following conclusions were made in the paper.
