In 1919, he was elected a member of the Legislative Sejm in the district comprising the town and district of Kalisz and the district of Turek. In July 1919, Fr. W. Bliziński’s party was registered as the National People's Union and was counted among the centre-right groups in the Legislative Sejm. In the parliamentary debate, Fr. W. Bliziński represented his parliamentary club many times, especially in discussions related to social welfare. He also took part in the work of several committees of the Legislative Sejm.
