Considering that one of the issues of the conference concerns the issue of utopia, the second part discusses the pop-cultural texts that illustrate the characteristic elements of utopia: burial of the “old world”, establishing a “perfect” order, protection against external destruction and protection against destruction from inside. Formed at different times and based on different means of expression, they talk about the dilemmas associated with thinking about a “better world”. They present the mechanisms and consequences of building a new society “with their own language”. The article presents a review of the novel of Polish science-fiction writer Stanisław Lem “Return from the Stars” and films “Pleasentville” (1998) directed by G. Ross and “Village” (2004) and M.N. Shyamalan.}, title={Popkulturowe ilustracje utopii społecznych, czyli o edukacyjnym potencjale kultury popularnej}, keywords={popular culture, informal education, critical pedagogy, cultural studies, utopia}, }
