 abstract={The paper shows how gender, learning disabilities and comorbid disorders can affect the relationship between self-esteem and locus of controlfor success in junior high school students. The sample was divided into several groups using two classification criteria: (1) the onset of LD and comorbid disorders (ADHD, ODD, CD) symptoms as well as (2) gender. The comparison groups could have been distinguished from one other with reference to thestrength and the type of correlations between self-esteem and causal attributions for success including not only LD and coccurring disorders but also gender. On the basis of the review of relevant literature and the findings of the author’s study, the opportunities to apply the theoretical and empirical facts toeducational practice were presented.},
