abstract={Energy issue, particularly in the area of gas and oil supply, is a neuralgic area of Russian-Ukrainian relations since the collapse of the USSR. It is characterized by various disputes and even conflicts. Such cases should be considered in the broader context of the process of power balance formation and political order in Eastern Europe. The warfare triggered by the Russian Federation in Ukraine is supposed to achieve specific political goals, i.e. disintegration of Ukraine and refraining this state from getting durable close ties with the West. The armed occupation of Crimea and hostilities in Donbas are marked by concrete consequences in the field of petrol and energy. Energy situation in Ukraine has been deteriorated but at the same time aggressive conduct of Russia strengthened determination of the Ukrainian authorities to implement reforms, particularly in the field of the natural gas market.},
