 abstract={The Polish Institutes’ activity in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus is a component of public diplomacy and should be correlated with the outlined Polish foreign policy directions towards the Eastern neighbours. The article presents the mechanisms of the Polish Institutes functioning, and instruments of the Polish cultural diplomacy mission which these institutions carry out. The proper selection of tools enables accomplishment of crucial aims of public diplomacy, i.e. shaping positive attitudes to Poland in the Belorussian, Ukrainian and Russian societies, as well as to certain values, including political ones. The article also points out the spheres which seem to be under-used by the Polish public diplomacy in the Polish Eastern policy.},
