abstract={The article focuses on the evolution of the role of whistleblowers in the digital era and on the analysis of the impact of modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), and on the effectiveness and security of reporting channels. The aim of the work is to assess how these technologies can revolutionize the process of reporting irregularities, as well as what challenges and opportunities are associated with their integration in the context of contemporary legislative changes, with particular emphasis on Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons reporting breaches of EU law and the Polish Act of 14 June 2024 on the protection of whistleblowers. The research methodology includes a literature review and an analysis of legal regulations. Key findings indicate that digital technologies can significantly increase the level of security, anonymity and efficiency of reporting systems, although at the same time they pose challenges to legislators and organizations related to ensuring compliance with regulations, protection of personal data and transparency. The work emphasizes that an important aspect of the future of whistleblower protection will be the harmonization of legal regulations with the dynamically developing technological landscape and education in the field of new reporting tools. The implications of the research suggest the need for a flexible approach to legal regulations to ensure effective whistleblower protection in the digital era, and indicate the need for continuous monitoring and adaptation of regulations to new technological challenges.},
