 abstract={The main aim of the research is to explain and compare the determinants of the model of political adaptation of Germany to the changes taking place in the EU during the periods of two crises: the crisis in the Eurozone and the migration and refugee crisis, as well as theinternational role of the state as a result of the adaptation process. The EU is perceived as a „significant environment” of adaptation, so it is important to define the main determinants of German European policy in the context of adaptation activities.The added value of the work is to be achieved by taking into account the Polish political and media perspective in the assessment of the adaptation activities of the German government and the role of Germany in the EU in times of crisis. The choice of the Polish perspective for the additional research aspect results from the adoption of the leader-followers concept in the work to explain the processes related to achieving the role of a leader in the context of the cooperative leadership framework.The lower caesura is set for 2009, when the Treaty of Lisbon entered into force, introducing significant changes in the functioning of the EU. The upper turning point of the research is not set due to the unfinished processes related to reforming the CEAS and the EMU, which are a consequence of the indicated crises},
