 abstract={This article presents issues related to the legal standing of spouses in civil proceedings. Individual cases of the presence of spouses in contentious proceedings were discussed and analyzed. Such cases do not form a homogeneous group and as such deal with various procedural situations, including cases where each spouse is entitled to a legal standing separately, as well as cases where there is a joint legal standing of the spouses (and compulsory joinder of parties on their side).},
