 abstract={Following article discuss the importance of digitization of social participation in local government, especially on municipal level, for creating better conditions conducive to taking initiatives and activities by members of the society, allowing more effective influence on public matters by all interested citizens. The text discusses the effects of the process of digitization of the participatory budget in Poland, the legal basis for creating it in electronic form, and analyses the effectiveness of participation in this form, primarily by taking into account the significance for changes taking place in society and the impact on individual citizens and their position in society. The text indicates the opportunities and threats resulting from the use of electronic social participation, as well as the possibilities and directions of their further development.},
