 abstract={In the article, an analysis of the presence of history in the activities of Polish public libraries was performed, on the example of two municipal public libraries in two capitals of voivodeships (provinces): Municipal Public Library in Opole and Municipal Public Library in Olsztyn. The offer of both institutions was collected based on the information published on their respective official websites (www.mbp.opole.pl and www.mbp.olsztyn.pl). Activities referring to history (to a varying degree) and undertaken in the years 2018–2019 were chosen for the analysis. To present the diversity of the historical activities of the two libraries, the events were divided into the following categories: book promotions (meet the author sessions, talks on books); meetings (on the subject of history, with witnesses to history); film screenings; exhibitions; active training sessions and occasional events. Furthermore, terminological issues related to the public history field have been clarified.},
