  The aim of the article was to investigate how the “Pedagogical Movement” at the beginning of the 20th century, and in the interwar period, promoted the reading of books for children. An important task was to analyse the texts published then, from the point of view of how book readings was encouraged, how readers were helped to make the right choice and what initiatives promoting reading were advertised.;
