TY - GEN A1 - Habowski, Mirosław PB - Instytut Studiów Międzynarodowych Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego N2 - The aim of the article is to verify the claim that there has been a breakthrough in Polish-Chinese relations after 2015. The author assumes that these relations exist within an imperial international system determined by the global domination of the USA, Poland’s affiliation with the block of western countries led by the USA and China’s sophisticated policy which selectively accepts the rules promoted by the leading superpower and, at the same time, persistently pursues the growth of its own strength and questions the American domination. On the domestic level the Polish policy towards China is influenced by liberal-democratic normative system adopted by Polish ruling elites within hegemonic socialization after 1989. Its impact, however, is weakening along with the growth of China’s economic power and the economic crisis of the USA and West European countries.
