 abstract={The aim of this publication is to present a role of public private partnership (PPP) in the process of local self-government units development, considered in local terms. Besides theoretical questions, the article centres upon assessment of PPP market progression in practical terms, both at the international as well as national scale, the basis comprises analysis of specificity and development trends of European and Polish PPP market. Partnership between local government and commercial units creates opportunities for effective and national management of public resources. The aim of the paper is to analyse the PPP institution in respect of the possible use of PPP projects by local government units. PPP projects can support the implementation of the good governance principles in the area of achieving the social objectives, as well as in delivering public good and providing support for small and medium-sized enterprises},
